REMEMBER OUR HISTORY

New Life Christian Academy came into existence because of a spirit-filled vision that was manifested in 1985.  One Sunday morning, at New Life Assembly, the congregation was moved to take up an offering that would secure the financial responsibility of starting a Christian school.  During that extraordinary service, a miraculous $86,000 was raised.  The people gave from the depths of their hearts, and their offerings included wedding bands, engagement rings, precious stones, an eighteenth-century Hawken rifle, a car, a camper, a 150-year-old railroad watch, and an un-circulated coin collection, among other valuable items.  Others took out personal loans, and many gave money they had saved for vacations or had set aside for future college expenses.  All were gifts above and beyond their tithing and everyone who made a commitment kept their vow.

As the vision spread, it was obvious that God gave the people a heart and mind to work.  The school began in the basement of the church.  Some of the staff worked in exchange for their child’s tuition, while others worked for very low wages.  It was a mission field, and everyone banded together to get the school up and running.  It was prophesied that people from outside the church would make large contributions towards this ministry.  Shortly after, we received a combined donation of $75,000 that was used for furnishing the classrooms. The former Summersville Clinic became the home of New Life Christian Academy.  The first addition was the cafeteria, followed by a gymnasium.  The secondary building and another gym were added as the school grew to accommodate pre-k through twelfth grade. God continues to use people from all walks of life to aide in keeping the ministry thriving.  People have forgotten about their own personal recognition and have chosen to become like-minded toward one another.  God tells us in Isaiah 55:11, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:  it shall not return void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.”  Through New Life Christian Academy, His word has been planted in the hearts of thousands of children and their families.  We are raising “world changers” because of the good hand of the Lord and the many sacrifices that have been made over the years. May God breathe freshly on His vision.

Habakkuk 2:2-3 …write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.
